Here&#8217;s a general guide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-obtain-an-ssl-certificate\"><strong>1. Obtain an SSL Certificate<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Free SSL (Let&#8217;s Encrypt):<\/strong> Many hosting providers offer free Let&#8217;s Encrypt SSL certificates directly within cPanel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Paid SSL:<\/strong> Purchase an SSL certificate from a trusted Certificate Authority (CA) like Comodo, DigiCert, etc. You&#8217;ll receive certificate files after purchase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-log-in-to-c-panel\"><strong>2. Log in to cPanel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to your cPanel account using your credentials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-install-the-ssl-certificate\"><strong>3. Alternatively, it can be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/9464\/33\/can-i-download-an-issued-certificate-on-your-site\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">downloaded<\/a>&nbsp;directly from your account directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4-copy-the-certificate-code\">4.Copy the certificate code <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>You received from the Certificate Authority including &#8212;&#8211;BEGIN CERTIFICATE&#8212;&#8211; and &#8212;&#8211;END CERTIFICATE&#8212;&#8211; and paste it into the\u00a0<strong>Certificate: (CRT)<\/strong>\u00a0field on the next page. The certificate files can be opened with the help of a text editor (e.g., Notepad for Windows or Textedit for macOS) on your computer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5-click-on-the-autofill-by-certificate-button\">5.Click on the\u00a0<strong>Autofill by Certificate<\/strong>\u00a0button, <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears next to the certificate entered, and the system will attempt to fetch the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">domain name<\/a>\u00a0and the private key. You may also choose the domain from the drop-down list and manually enter the certificate and private key into the corresponding boxes. If the system fails to fetch the private key, you can locate it in the Private Keys (KEY) section of the\u00a0<strong>SSL\/TLS Manager<\/strong>. Please remember to include the Begin\/End headers and footers of the certificate and the key. In case the private one is missing, please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/9445\/2290\/generating-a-csr-using-cpanel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">generate<\/a>\u00a0a new CSR code together with the private key and then\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/811\/70\/how-do-i-reissue-my-ssl-certificate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reissue<\/a>\u00a0your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/security\/ssl-certificates.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SSL certificate<\/a>.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/cpinst8.png\" alt=\"cpinst8\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-copy-and-paste-the-chain-of-the-intermediate-certificates\">6.Copy and paste the chain of the intermediate certificates\u00a0<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.namecheap.com\/support\/knowledgebase\/article.aspx\/9393\/69\/ca-bundle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(CA Bundle)<\/a>\u00a0into the box under\u00a0<strong>Certificate Authority Bundle (CABUNDLE)<\/strong>\u00a0if it is not filled in already.<br><br>If you want to use this certificate for Mail Services (Exim and Dovecot), check the \u201cEnable SNI for Mail Services\u201d box. In this case, you can use your domain, for which the SSL certificate has been installed, as a hostname of the mail server configuring your mail clients to work via secured ports.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/cpinst9.png\" alt=\"cpinst9\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7-click-on-install-certificate\">7. Click on&nbsp;<strong>Install Certificate<\/strong>.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations! The certificate is now installed on the server for your site. The site should now be accessible via https:\/\/. You can check the installation using&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/decoder.link\/sslchecker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this tool<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE!<\/strong>&nbsp;Starting from cPanel version 11.60, you can use the installed certificates to log into cPanel\/WHM as well as&nbsp; to webmail, ftp and webdisk. The certificate installed for a domain gets assigned to these services automatically, no separate actions are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The site should now be accessible via https:\/\/. You can check the installation using&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/decoder.link\/sslchecker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this tool<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/namecheap.simplekb.com\/SiteContents\/2-7C22D5236A4543EB827F3BD8936E153E\/media\/cpinst5.jpg\" alt=\"cpinst5\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4-verify-ssl-installation\"><strong>4. Verify SSL Installation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit your website with <code>https:\/\/<\/code> to ensure it\u2019s loading over HTTPS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use an online tool like <a>SSL Checker<\/a> to verify the SSL installation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5-force-https-optional-but-recommended\"><strong>5.
